The emergency department is the central contact point for all medical emergencies in the BGU Murnau. Approximately 24,000 patients are treated here annually.
The Central Emergency Room is located on the 4th floor and has a separate access for emergency services as well as direct access from the helipad. Access for pedestrians is well signposted, accessible via the main entrance of the hospital.
Here for you 24 hours a day!
A highly qualified, interdisciplinary team of doctors and nurses is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year ready for emergencies. All specialist departments collaborate, hand in hand, in order to be able to make a rapid diagnosis to ensure the patient's treatment either as outpatient or inpatient.
Range of Service
- Surgical emergencies
- Heart catheter care
- Burn injuries treatment
- Treatment of strokes (stroke unit)
- Spinal Cord Injury treatment
In the emergency room, smaller operations and treatment of bone fractures with resetting and/or wire fixation can be carried out, either under local or general anesthesia.
The emergency room does not provide regular outpatient care. Patients can use the BGU Murnau consultation services of the outpatient clinics for an examination from one of the physicians there.
Waiting is possible
All emergency patients are treated according to levels of urgencyafter an initial assessment in the triage system, so that patients with life-threatening injuries are treated primarily. This can lead to waiting times in the emergency room, which are unfortunately sometimes unavoidable with high volumes of patients.
