The Neurocentre treats patients in the central emergency department.  Patients are treated for acute neurosurgical and neurological disorders, such as acute spinal syndromes, cerebral hemorrhage, stroke, and nervous system injuries, especially traumatic brain injury.

All necessary examination techniques, including CT scans, MRIs and angiograms are provided immediately and around the clock. Neurosurgery is furthermore part of the shock room team for care of severely injured patients.

The Neurocentre takes responsibility for the treatment of stroke patients. If necessary, patients are treated in the emergency department following admission to the Neurocentre, which in addition to the normal wards, has two large interdisciplinary intensive care and intermediate care wards available for use, depending on the severity of the clinical picture.
